June 7: Abstract Art -- View abstract artwork by local artists Dustin Brenton and Bobbi Whittemore. Compose your own music on a “water piano” and help create a community abstract painting using Sphero robots!
Dustin Brenton, a Franklin resident, stands as an accomplished creative director behind Brenton Creative, an award-winning, full-service marketing and advertising agency, and host of the podcast “Create. Talk. Repeat.” Drawing inspiration from revered artists such as Robert Delaunay, Mark Rothko, Piet Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky, Josef Albers, the revolutionary Bauhaus Art Movement, as well as the eclectic talents he discovers on Instagram, Dustin has crafted a distinct style. With bold brush strokes, he weaves vibrant colors into backgrounds, seamlessly melding them with striking solid shapes that evoke both movement and captivating focal points. Dustin’s artistic vision and innovative approach make his creative voice an invaluable addition to the artistic landscape.
Bobbi Whittemore is a freelance photographer specializing in fine art photography & movie set stills photography (crew). An early preoccupation with the family 2 1/4 Rolleiflex and a proclivity for the movies led her to a Film BA that encompasses movie critique, moviemaking, movie exhibition, and many aspects of photography. Bobbi is a well-traveled Hoosier who has lived and worked all over the U.S. Her career as a sole proprietor includes: photographer, equine massage therapist, horse trainer, ranch camp director, and professional organizing consultant. She currently works with the Johnson County Public Library and volunteers with the Heartland International Film Festival, Franklin Heritage, Discover Downtown Franklin, and the Creative Council of Franklin.
