JCPL is excited to welcome Edgar Award Winning author and Indiana native Axton-Betz Hamilton to our Authors at JCPL series! Register for tickets at Eventbrite.
“The Less People Know About Us” is a true crime story about stolen identity and growing up in small town Indiana. When she was 11 years old, her parents both had their identities stolen, causing years of family struggles and tension that nearly destroyed them. Through the chaos, Axton learns her own identity was also stolen by someone close to her and “The Less People Know About Us” finds her digging through lies and trying to come to terms with why a loved one could do this to her.
Betz-Hamilton earned a B.S. in agricultural economics and an M.S. in consumer sciences and retailing, both from Purdue University. She also earned a Ph.D. in human development and family studies from Iowa State University and a graduate certificate in family financial planning from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Currently, she is an assistant professor of consumer affairs at South Dakota State University. She and her husband, Robert, have six cats.
