Building Bridges: White Supremacy and Environmental Racism

Learn about white supremacy & its origins in N. America, beginning w/ colonization & enslavement. Public historian Ben Clark will show how those legacies shape our relationships w/ the environment.

Looking at how the power of the state shapes and enforces, environmental policy, Benjamin Clark helps audiences see how, due to systemic racism, Black and Brown communities have been disproportionately negatively impacted by pollution, climate change and natural disasters.

This program is part of Johnson County Public Library's Building Bridges series and Indiana Humanities, World of Wonders initiative. This program is funded through a generous Indiana Humanities/World of Wonders grant.
