The Freetown Village Singers on the Lawn
Saturday, October 10
2:00pm - 3:00pm
Experience history in harmony with the Freetown Village Singers!
Bring your lawn chairs to the Trafalgar Community Amphitheater and celebrate America's 250th Anniversary with the Freetown Village Singers!
Step back in time and experience the power of history brought to life through storytelling and song. The acclaimed Freetown Village Singers invite you to an interactive performance featuring traditional folk songs and Negro spirituals—music that has uplifted, healed, comforted, and inspired generations through times of crisis and triumph.
Through a powerful mix of a cappella singing and dramatic storytelling, the Singers will decode the rich history and often hidden meanings tucked into words sung during work, leisure, and religious gatherings over a century ago.
About the Singers: Since 1988, the Freetown Village Singers have traveled throughout Indiana and the Midwest, delivering unforgettable, living-history experiences to audiences of all ages—from elementary schools to major city-wide celebrations.
Come listen, learn, and be moved by this beautiful showcase of traditional American music. You won’t want to miss it!
Thank you to Festival Country Indiana for supporting our “Voices of a Nation: America 250 Concert Series” at the upcoming Trafalgar Community Amphitheater.
